Hello again, everyone!
Wow, 2 updates so far this week. I’m n a roll. :D
I just wanted to explain what I meant in my last journal when I mentioned I wanted a theme.
What I meant was that I wanted to do something where I draw and submit one pic a day for a whole month. The month would have an overall theme. Something like Bronze/Iron Artist or whatever, you know?
Anywho, I figured out what I’m going to do: Music. This year is gonna be all about music.
Here’s how the process works:
At the end of each month (on the Sunday before the first day of the next month), I’m going to post a specific genre of music. You guys leave comments on the journal with the song you want me to use and I will choose 5. I will draw and post something to each of those songs every day, Monday thru Friday.
Saturdays, I’ll post a comic or some other personal work. Sundays, I’ll choose one of the sketches I did throughout the week, turn it into a line art and color it.
What’s the theme for this month? Well, since it’s already the second week of January, I’ll let you guys just put down any song from any genre. Only genres I will NOT accept are: Country, Gospel or Rap. Otherwise, go nuts! If you guys have a specific idea you wanna see in the pic (that relates to the song you requested in some way), then go ahead and add that as well.
I’m doing this to help improve my Art. I figure that, if I give myself a deadline or something, I’ll get things done and I’ll finally get somewhere with my Art.
Another thing I’d like to clear up is the fact that I… I don’t know how long good pieces of Art are supposed to take. I’m used to my sketches taking anywhere from 10-20 minutes, traditionally. Digitally, a sketch takes 30 minutes. Then, for me to clean up that sketch and color it would be another hour and a half.
I’m guessing it takes much longer to create something as good as [any of the pieces you find in my Favorites]. If so, I might need to learn a bit of patience as well. I want to be as good as the Artists I admire and that give me inspiration.
Anywho.. I'll be posting another journal for Song Doodle Requests on Sunday, so keep an eye out! Otherwise, that's all for now. Until next time, l8r!

New Year's Resolutions (for 2013)
Hey everyone..
Now, I haven't done the whole "New Year's Resolution(s)" thing since I was in Elementary School. Why? 'Cause I think it's pointless. That and the fact that I never really had anything. Also because I haven't ever set a goal for myself in all those years.
Well, after everything that happened in 2012, things are different. I now have a goal and there are a couple of things I need to do in order to reach that goal.
What is that goal? It's to become a Cartoonist/Comic Artist. I want to be known for what I do. I want my stuff out there. It's no longer enough for me just to doodle while my friends look over my shoulder or to post them on sites like this. I want to become like all the Artists out there that I admire and that give me inspiration.
So, what are my New Year's Resolutions? Well, let me tell you:
My first New Year's Resolution is to go to the gym daily. This is required with my current job. I need to keep fit. Plus, I now have some roundness in my belly that I believe is quite noticeable and it makes me feel fat. :S I have never liked the way I looked. But I realize I'm not going to feel any better about myself if I sit around, do nothing and continue to let myself go. It's time to work off all the weight I gained over the Holiday (thanks to you, Iggy). I haven't exactly set a goal as to where I want to be by the end of the year.. But I hope to at least get my flat 4-pack stomach back.
My second New Year's Resolution is to draw. I realize that my Art is going nowhere. This is because I'm not drawing like I used to. I just keep putting things off. I'm never going to make it as a Cartoonist that way. Another thing is that I have to branch out as well. I need to experiment with my Art. I want to learn how to ink and color [properly]. I want to learn how to use different programs, how to use layers and how to use the different brushes available to my advantage. I want to be much better than I am right now. I want to be proud of my work. Which I currently am not.
For my first New Year's Resolution, I have my best friends (IRL) Iggy and Makai to help me. I've already asked them to make sure that I stick to it this year. I know I can count on them.
As for my second… I'm gonna need your help. Your encouragement, help and support is well appreciated as always. But this year, I'm gonna need some pushing. I've already got Dalon and Zoa helping me out with ideas and such-.. I'm starting to lose my concentration here.
I was supposed to have started a "Sketch a Day" kind of thing starting this month, but I haven't started. I guess I need an idea. A theme. Last year, I had a bunch of monthly themes. But I was too depressed to draw. I'm much better now and I feel I can take on the task. But… maybe something light..? Go easy on me! It's been a while. ><;
So… what do you say? Can you guys help me out this year? Let me know what you think.
Oh… and once again: Happy New Year.
